Job Description
Necessary qualifications include a Ph.D. in statistics, mathematics, or a related field awarded by the time of appointment from a regionally accredited institution.
Preferred Qualifications include previous teaching experience at the collegiate level (such as teaching assistant experience) to a diverse group of students, evidence of effective teaching, evidence of scholarship in statistics or data science, and effective written and oral communication skills appropriate to the position.
The Mathematics and Statistics Department at the University of Minnesota Duluth invites applications for two postdoctoral positions in statistics including data science. These are 2-year non-tenure-track appointments. The appointment starts August 21, 2023.
Applicants should be able to teach a wide range of statistics courses, show evidence of teaching excellence, and demonstrate a commitment to working with a diverse student population. We are particularly interested in applicants to help advance our growing data science program.

Duties & Responsibilities include a teaching load of 2/2, as well as research and service. Teaching duties include in-class teaching, course development, assessment, office hours, and undergraduate advising. Service duties include meeting attendance, committee work, and other service and outreach activities.
